Sam Burke has been a fixture on bass in many ensembles in the area, including The Charlie Goodwin Orchestra, Dave Johnson Piano Duo, Jazz Annex Trio, Mirage, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, The Road Company Theater, The Normaltones, Mouse & The Mothers, and The Jonesborough Novelty Band. In his extensive travels, he also played with various garage bands, power trios, R&B show bands, folk bands, lounge bands, and bar bands, such as}Push, Simon Says, King Polk & the Groove Merchants, Marked Men, Lacey, The Whole Damn Family. His musical career began in 1965.
